- Meta Description: The meta description is the description that appears on Google search results, below the page title. Meta descriptions can be no longer than 156 characters, so maximize that character availability by enriching it with keywords.
- Subheadings: If your content has H2s or H3s, try to include the keywords in those locations.
All of the above tips emphasize the importance of including the keyword or keyword phrase in certain areas of the page. When doing this, be careful to not force the keyword into places where it’s completely unnatural. Google recognizes keyword-stuffing and penalizes websites for it.
WordPress SEO Page Analysis
Once you have drafted your WordPress blog or page of content, it’s time to review and analyze your work for SEO.
- Word count for SEO: Blogs and content pages should have a minimum of 300 words. Beef up your body paragraphs if you come up short of 300!
- Outbound Links: Find partners on other websites that are relevant to your industry. If you write something that’s applicable to their site, give them a link. Outbound links are favorable to your SEO. By partnering with them, they may start linking to your site—backlinking—and your SEO for WordPress sites will improve even more.
- Evaluate the readability of the content. Short sentences improve readability. Edit elongated sentences into shorter and clearer sentences.
