Dave’s WordPress Live Search – Autocomplete Made Easy

By December 17, 2013 No Comments

Have you ever typed into a search box and seen result suggestions appear before your very eyes? It’s pretty handy, right? Sites like Google, Amazon, Ebay, and Apple all use this feature within their website.  It’s called “live search” or sometimes “autocomplete.” Today, I’d like to focus on a plugin I recently discovered which adds this functionality to your WordPress sites.

Using Live Search for WordPress

Dave’s WordPress Live Search was developed specifically for WordPress and makes live search a reality. Installing the plugin is similar to any other WordPress plugin, a snap! But what really makes this plugin stand out is its customizations.

Customizing WordPress Live Search

It’s the simple things that make it so special.  Not only can you customize the amount of results to display, you also have the ability to deploy live search results after “x” amount of characters typed, include thumbnails and excerpts, and use the included (or build your own) themes.

Once you’ve installed the plugin, it’ll automatically attach to any search box on your website.  It really is that simple.

Happy WordPressing!
