The Problem
As a diversified systems and services company in the transportation and defense industries, Cubic’s distinct divisions each needed the ability to independently manage their own websites, but they also required a unified look, feel, and user experience throughout. When the multi-billion dollar government defense contractor needed a partner to manage their web presence, they called on Web Ascender, the team that defends cutting-edge development, pushes the envelope with innovative design, and captivates audiences with engaging digital experiences.
The Solutions
As the home of Cubic’s corporate identity, it was essential to highlight their mission as a company, as well as each of their divisions, while making their websites accessible to both prospects and investors. Our team delivered a sustainable solution that not only met these needs, but also allows Cubic to manage all of their content across each of their divisions and make updates on their own. Our team has been working with Cubic Corporation for more than eight years to effectively integrate each of their business units into an effective, comprehensive web presence.
Cubic Transportation Systems
The Web Ascender team initially worked with Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) to implement a new design that would effectively portray their organization. Using the DotNetNuke content management system, we were able to build out a website for CTS that allows them to easily add and edit pages, update content and showcase news and events. Multi-language and localization features were also implemented in creating a UK version of the site to improve the experience of their visitors.
After the launch of their existing website, CTS came to us with a tight timeline for moving content from NextBus, a separate site that had been compromised, to their existing website. Our team was able to recover the content and seamlessly integrate it into the CTS website within the timeframe they needed to keep.
Cubic Mission Support Services
The Mission Support Services division of Cubic Corporation needed a complete overhaul of their old website to match the company’s overall brand standards and to improve the user-friendliness of the site. The Web Ascender team evaluated the existing MSS website to develop a plan for improving their site architecture and user experience. We then designed and developed a new website that meets their needs and the needs of their customers. A custom mapping solution was also implemented, allowing visitors to easily identify different locations from their website.
Cubic Advanced Learning Solutions
Our team also worked with Cubic Advanced Learning Solutions to come up with a custom website design that would portray them as a knowledgeable leader in the game-based learning industry while adhering to their corporate brand standards. Even though they needed to launch the site within a tight schedule, we were able to add all the necessary content and complete the skinning of the site on time.
Results
Working with Cubic on their main corporate website allowed us to get a grasp on all the ins and outs of their business, which carried over into collaborating on a number of other web projects within different divisions of the company. The result is an effective, integrated, and comprehensive online presence.
