Web Ascender employees Jeff McWherter and Michael Pardo created an application for the new Google Phone. During the first two weeks of the application’s release it was downloaded over 100,000 times and has been featured on websites such as Gizmodo and Lifehacker.

McWherter and Pardo have been doing research and development for Web Ascender’s mobility solutions division and came up with the concept to create caller ID for your cell phone. The two created an application for the Android operating system (Google Phone) that connects to Whitepages.com during an incoming call that is not in your contact list. The application then displays the caller’s name, phone number, and address, even if they are not in your contact list. Upon completion of the call the program provides an easy way to add the person to your contact list and even pull up a map of where the call originated.
After demonstrating the application to the VP of mobile solutions at WhitePages, Michael Pardo was able to arrange for the sale of the application to their mobile division. WhitePages has since released the application for free to the public and the program has been increasing in popularity ever since.
